Laguna Blanca School is a college preparatory, coeducational day school located on two campuses in Santa Barbara, California. Grades EK-4 are located on a quaint campus in Montecito, while Grades 5-12 are located on Laguna’s historic campus in idyllic Hope Ranch. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 6TH Grade Co-Teacher position is available on the Hope Ranch Campus for January through April.
Leading math, history, and language arts instruction in a self-contained classroom to ½ the sixth grade class daily
Supporting specialist teachers as needed
Maintaining and supporting a pleasant, organized educational environment
Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials
Assisting with the grading of student work
Supervising lunch and recess
Chaperoning field trips
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Previous elementary classroom experience
Exceptional classroom management skills
Must possess a strong desire to take an active role in the classroom
Candidates should be child centered, technologically proficient, and possess excellent communication skills
Strong organizational skills needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree and/or a California teaching credential is preferred
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
Must be able to traverse school facility and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency
