Berkshire Country Day School is seeking a highly committed and elementary teacher for a full-time position.
Responsibilities include collaborating with the other teachers, as well attending grade level meetings, lunch/recess duties, and regular parent communication. A successful candidate will be able to integrate technology into his or her teaching, particularly Google Suite. A homeroom teacher is responsible for teaching language arts, math, SEL, and social studies. Professionalism, maturity and the ability to deal with unpredictability are vital in this role. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work in either a virtual/distance learning, hybrid or on-campus program. Berkshire Country Day School is open for in-person learning at this time, with protocols in place due to the pandemic. Qualified applicants should have a strong background in education and a minimum of two years of elementary-level classroom experience. The ideal candidate has knowledge of child development, and an ability to work collaboratively with grade-level colleagues and special area teachers.

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
Differentiate instruction as necessary to meet the needs of all students.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Use appropriate classroom management strategies so that boundaries are clear and students feel comfortable and able to learn.
Collaborate with other faculty on school-wide curriculum, programming, and events.
Actively engage students in their learning using inquiry and investigation.
Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary projects, activities and lessons.
Collaborate with colleagues to identify, teach towards, and assess the successful meeting of learning goals for your students.
Plan, implement, and supervise the educational program for the class in accordance with the goals, policies, procedures, philosophy, and curriculum of the school.
Maintain an organized, inclusive classroom environment, including the display of students’ work, classroom guidelines, bulletin boards, and a neat and orderly appearance, conducive to student learning.
Attend all staff meetings, in-services, and required school functions.
Provide lunch/playground/carpool supervision as assigned.
