Charlotte Latin School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, flexible, and energetic educator with college preparatory experience to join our full-time Upper School Science Department teaching both chemistry and physics. This position is well suited for an innovator who enjoys teaching unique, individualized science courses at the Advanced Placement, honors, and introductory levels. Additional responsibilities may include sponsoring extra-curricular activities, advising, and/or coaching.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, or associated area is required; master’s or doctoral degrees are highly preferred.
Experience teaching chemistry and/or physics is required.
Experience with (or willingness to learn) Modeling Instruction is required.
Experience teaching a wide variety of levels, including Honors and/or AP courses, is preferred.
Experience teaching in an independent school is preferred.
Able to contribute as a team member.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to engage and connect with students as individuals.
Able to contribute to student life outside the classroom.
Proficient with using technology to support education.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
