Established in 1900, Seattle Golf Club is an 18-hole private club located in North Seattle. Redesigned by the Arnold Palmer Design Company in 1996, the club will undergo a $1.6 million Greenside bunker renovation in the fall of 2021. In the past 20 years, the club committed capital funds to build a new maintenance facility, installation of a Toro irrigation system, rebuilding of all fairway bunkers and significant drainage projects throughout the course. For over 70 years, the club hosted prestigious amateur championships such as the US Amateur, Walker Cup, USGA Senior Amateur, Men’s PAC 10 Championship and the Pacific Coast Amateur.
2 or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management or equivalent program.
2-3 years’ in a private club setting and an internship experience at a private club or resort is strongly recommended. Individual that plays and enjoys the game of golf preferred.
Possess leadership skills to communicate effectively to a diverse staff, express ideas to improve the overall program, be organized and lead by example in a dynamic golf atmosphere.Bilingual is a plus. Expected to have a passion for the golf industry and a willingness to put in the time to succeed. A driver license is required to obtain a Washington State Pesticide License within 90 days of employment.
Responsible, but not limited, toperform a daily set of activities on the course, assist in scheduling/running daily operations, application and supervision of a yearly nutrition and pesticide program, interview, hire/train employees, perform bi-yearly evaluations, monitor payroll weekly, schedule staff training and safety meetings, record keeping, irrigation set up and adjustments, supervise operation of maintenance pumps, expected to learn and correctly identify PNW diseases, insects and weeds, consult with local vendors on products, support best course management practices and attend monthly green committee meetings.
