Head of Lower School July 2021 Position Summary Randolph School seeks a dynamic, student-centered Head of Lower School to begin July 1, 2021 and to serve as part of an outstanding leadership team that focuses on the School’s mission of seeking truth, building character, and nurturing all. The Head of the Lower School reports directly to the Head of School and is responsible for all aspects of the program and personnel of the Lower School, overseeing all facets of the division’s daily operation. The ideal candidate has a strong developmental understanding of the lower school child and the uniqueness that each child possesses. S/he will be an experienced school leader with a record of success in the classroom and school leadership and a desire to flourish in a culture of high expectations. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and innovative leader, willing to partner and contribute to all aspects of school life and operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Serve as the educational leader of the Lower School, promoting a research-based curriculum that offers a developmentally appropriate learning experience that allows for differentiation of curriculum • Enthusiastically lead the division in the execution of the School’s mission and strategic goals • Be a visual presence in all areas of school life and an ambassador for Randolph in the wider community • Guide, mentor, supervise and support faculty to further professional growth and in matters of classroom management, instructional methods, and constructive classroom procedures • Be a lifelong learner with the ability to articulate innovative trends in pedagogy and instruction • Be cognizant of the educational, social, emotional, physical, and psychological needs of the young learner and develop plans to meet those needs • Be a certified Responsive Classroom educator or familiar with the Responsive Classroom approach • Be a trained Fundations educator or familiar with the Wilson Language curricula • Work collaboratively with Greengate School using an RTI approach • Serve as an advocate for the Lower School division while also understanding and helping guide the greater needs of the K-12 institution • Actively support the School’s enrollment management process, with a focus on recruiting, admitting, and retaining mission-appropriate students and in support of overall enrollment goals • Oversee the coordination of the co-curricular and extra-curricular programs, including the planning and the presentation of school assemblies and programs Qualification Requirements • Master’s Degree in education or school administration preferred • Exceptional written and oral communication skills • Excellent organizational and presentation skills • Collaborative leader and decision maker • 5+ years’ experience as a classroom educator, ideally in an independent school environment • Strategic thinker and empathetic problem solver To Apply: https://workforcenow.adp.com/mascsr/default/mdf/recruitment/recruitment.html?cid=e6deffda-3ccd-4d7f-a6bf-5c15e508548e&ccId=19000101_000001&lang=en_US As a member institution, Randolph School is committed to the principles of diversity as stated by the National Associate of Independent Schools (NAIS).
