Operations: Quaker Ridge Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf club in Scarsdale, NY, 30 miles North of New York City. Consistently ranked in the top-100 in all publications, Quaker Ridge was established in 1916 and designed by A.W. Tillinghast. The club is finishing a restoration with Gil Hanse bringing the course back to the original design. There is multiple capital projects going on throughout the season, as the course is always improving.
Mission Statement: Our goal here at Quaker Ridge is to give our membership the best playing conditions as possible. During the peak season, we will work long hours and do whatever it takes to achieve these conditions. We want to provide you the experience of working at a top-100 golf course while putting you in a great position to be superintendent ready. Hard work is rewarded as previous assistants have become golf course Superintendents and ample time to travel, recover and pursue hobbies throughout the year.
Educational: Turf Certificate, A.S., B.S. in Turf Management or related field. Must be able to obtain a New York State Pesticide license in 90 days. Must understand the game of golf and the expectations of a high-end private club. A successful candidate must be organized, proficient in Microsoft Excel and detail ordinated. The individual should be self-driven with an end goal of being a Golf Course Superintendent.
Experience: Newly Graduate, or prior experience a plus. The candidate should be able to manage an experienced grounds crew by giving detail instruction. As well as including but not limited to chemical and fertilizer applications, hand watering, irrigation repairs, course set-up, budgeting, and staff supervision. Must have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and have a keen eye for detail.
