Lake Highland is seeking a certified teacher to instruct third grade virtual students during the second semester, 2021. Applicants should be available to begin teaching on our Digital Campus mid-January. Classes are delivered virtually through Zoom each day from 7:40 am - 2:40. Instruction may be delivered off-campus or a dedicated location on campus. Additional teaching opportunities may become available after this role ends. Qualified applicants should hold a valid Florida teaching certificate, 2+ years of experience teaching elementary age students and feel comfortable using technology to deliver instruction.

Instructs digital classes through live, Zoom sessions for third grade students in the following subjects: Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies using various teaching methods, such as lecture, demonstrations, group work, hands-on activities and uses audiovisual aids, technology and other resources to supplement instruction.
Creates digital content in Canvas, Google and Seesaw. Additional digital skills, including design work in Kami, NearPod, EdPuzzle, etc.
Collaborates on a regular basis with on-campus teachers ·
Follows the course of study, curriculum guidelines, and/or requirements of the State of Florida, LHPS, and accrediting agencies.
Assigns and corrects homework.
Administers both formative and summative tests and assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching plan.
Keeps accurate and up-to-date student records.
Issues reports to parents to inform about progress and assessment results.
Keeps attendance and grade records.
Maintains discipline and safety in the digital classroom.
Meets and/or communicates with parents to discuss individual student progress and problems.
Participates in faculty and professional meetings, curriculum projects as needed, educational conferences and teacher training workshops.
Keeps teacher certification current; provides Human Resources a copy of Certificate or Statement of Eligibility and with proof of courses taken towards certification or recertification.
Should be willing to do whatever necessary to assure comfort, safety and health of students entrusted to him / her.
