Lower School Principal (K-5)
Hawaii Preparatory Academy
Hawai`i Preparatory Academy is seeking a Lower School Principal beginning July 1, 2021. The position provides instructional leadership and oversees the day-to-day operation of the Lower School, which consists of approximately 110 students in grades K through 5, and 16 faculty members, an Afterschool Program Director, and 5 educational assistants. The Lower School Principal works collaboratively with the Middle School Principal to provide leadership for the Village Campus and works collaboratively with the K-12 Director of Studies and the Upper School Principal to align the K-12 curriculum and K-12 Faculty Development in conjunction with HPA’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. Essential qualifications include K-5 classroom experience and leadership experience. Preferred qualifications include prior experience as a principal or assistant principal, an advanced degree, experience with restorative practices, and an understanding of Hawaiian culture and traditions. Candidates must have strong leadership, organizational, communication, curriculum development/implementation, and team-building skills. This position requires strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, in addition to the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administration, and families.
