Lower School Division Director

Job Posting for 2021-22 The Kentucky Country Day (KCD) lower school director reports to the head of school and serves as an integral member of the head of school’s senior administration team. The lower school division director is charged with the comprehensive responsibility for all activities involving students and faculty in grades JK-4. The ideal candidate would have previous lower school leadership experience, lower school classroom teaching experience, and a minimum of a master’s degree. The candidate would have a strong background in best practices in teaching and learning that foster the development of students’ 21st century skills, as well as experience working with multiple school constituencies in a diverse community. The candidate would have the ability to balance the big picture of school life with the details of managing the daily life of school and the individual needs of members of our community. The candidate needs to be a good listener who fosters collegiality among the lower school faculty. The personal qualities of approachability, flexibility, and patience are also desirable for this position. Areas of responsibility include the following:
