| The 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will work closely with the two First Assistants and the Golf Course Superintendent to devise and implement strategies to maintain the golf course in an efficient and sustainable way. He/she should have a driven mindset and be able to work with sufficient freedom. This will be an open and engaging work environment meant to derive new ideas and a “think outside the box mentality” which develops into a superior learning culture. Our focus is on firm/fast agronomics, with a reputation of being environmentally sustainable. Club is currently in the process of developing a Master Plan with renovations to the irrigation system, bunkers, cart paths, tee boxes, native areas, and greens on the horizon. It's exciting time for the club. Playing surfaces consist of A1/A4 bent grass greens, bermudagrass tees, fairways, and roughs, as well as numerous acres of native grass. This is an excellent opportunity to join a developing team and is open to recent graduates with quality work experience and references, as well as to the experienced assistant who wants to upgrade their career track. The greens at the Standard Club are equipped with Sub-Air, Turf Breeze fans, and some greens have Hydronics capabilities. Primary responsibilities will include supervising staff scheduling through ABS Task Tracker software, applications involving plant protectants and fertilizers, calibration of application equipment, tracking inventory and applications using Playbooks for Golf, leading staff meetings, project management, payroll, course setup, irrigation setup and maintenance, and hand watering functions as needed. |
