Westborough Country Club is a private member owned club in the desirable Kirkwood area just outside the city of St. Louis. The Clu Membership is a tight knit authentic community with realistic expectations and graciously embrace and appreciate the staff. We are a family club and have 425 golf Members, 19 families on the wait list and nearly 100 social Members. Our dues revenue exceeds $3,000,000 and the Club is in good financial condition. We project we will have $900,000 per year for Club improvements and equipment replacement.
The original course was an 18-hole Tom Bendelow design in 1907. For more information on the history of Westborough view our website. We are an 18-hole par 68 course, tightly designed to fit in our 75 acres. We have T-1 Bentgrass greens with Meyers Zoysia tees, fairways, and Tall Fescue rough. Typically, the Club experiences 17,000 rounds of golf although this year we experienced nearly 31,000 rounds. The grounds staff consist of roughly 18 employees in season which includes a full time Horticulturist.
The ideal candidate must have demonstrated leadership qualities, a degree in agronomy and experience working at a golf course. She or he must be a certified MO pesticide applicator or ability to become certified. Experience and a passion for progressive technology is also required. Everyone from a recent graduate that hopes to move on to be Superintendent, as well those who have been a Superintendent looking to play a support role in the later part of hes or her career will be considered. Our Superintendent has been in his role for 25 years, is held in high esteem by the Club and well respected in the St. Louis District. He is prepared to provide his assistant and excellent mentorship program which will propel him or her to progress in the industry if that is their desire. Over the next several years we plan to renovate our bunkers and replace our irrigation system.
