Sayre seeks a dedicated professional who can teach in all divisions to work in our Physical Education and Health Department. The successful candidate holds a Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Physical Education and Health and an interest in collaborating with a team of teachers, a strong sense of purpose in teaching lifetime skills, an active curiosity about kids and their success. Teaching experience is preferred but not required. This is a wonderful independent school and a great place to work.

Job responsibilities include:
Teaching classes in Physical Education and Health in Pre-School, Elementary, Middle and Upper School.
Administer lessons which work on skills, strategies, sportsmanship, game concepts, etc.
Working collaboratively with and support team teachers in the Physical Education Department
Be an active member of school life outside the classroom.
Grading and writing narrative term comments about students
Coaching sports teams
Other duties around the school (chaperoning dances, class trips, supervision at recess, etc)

Established in 1854, Sayre School is an independent PS through 12th grade college preparatory co-educational school located in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. A second campus, comprising a 50-acre athletic complex and farm, is several miles outside of town.
