Justin-Siena High School is seeking a full-time high school Social Studies Instructor for the 2021-22 school year. The essential responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Above all, we seek candidates who are aligned with the school’s Lasallian Catholic mission and vision, serve as positive role models of faith as well as support the school’s ideals of inclusivity, social justice, academic excellence, and loving community. They are committed to maximizing the holistic growth of all students. Preference will be given to practicing Catholics. Qualifications Candidates must possess demonstrated competence in the content area and in using research-based pedagogical practices. An advanced degree in the content area is preferred. Preference will also be given to those with experience teaching college preparatory, Honors, and Advanced Placement courses, grades 9-12, who have a demonstrated ability to engage students actively in their learning, and who hold a current California Teaching Credential. Preference will be given to those with experience in Lasallian or other Catholic high schools. We seek candidates with track records of positive, professional collaboration in team settings. An understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents is necessary; therefore, we seek a healthy combination of competency, positivity, flexibility, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor. We seek candidates with demonstrated experience working in a diverse, inclusive community and strong cross-cultural competency skills. School Overview Justin-Siena is a Lasallian Catholic college preparatory high school. We serve approximately 560 students from the Napa Valley and neighboring Northern California communities, as well as international students in residence from countries around the world.
