Position Number: D98992 Description: The College of Education (COE) at Portland State University is seeking a 1.0 FTE 9-month, non-tenure-track Elementary Education faculty with a continuous appointment at the Assistant Professor of Practice level in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction, starting September 16, 2021. Various assignments for non-tenure-track instructional faculty include instruction, supporting scholarly activities, and service to the University, community, and profession. Expectations for the position are summarized in the position description and will be the principal components upon which annual review will be based. Primary responsibilities for this position include: -Developing and teaching courses in the College of Education (COE), primarily for pre-service elementary teachers, This position is not designed for a scholar who wishes to devote significant time to research and publishing. Faculty hired in this category must hold an advanced degree in their field of specialization from an accredited program in their discipline and/or have comparable experience. Advanced degree in this case means a post-licensure MA/MS degree (a degree earned separately from one earned as part of initial teacher licensure) or EdD/PhD.
