The Maidstone Club is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in East Hampton, NY. The property is dynamic across the 27-holes of golf from dunes along the coast, to wetlands along Hook Pond, and to woodlands. The West Course was designed by Willie Park Jr. and restored by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw in 2014. Besides well-conditioned links golf Maidstone has a large tennis facility with 19-grass courts and 4 Har-Tru courts. There is also a beach club and well regarded junior activities program in the summer.

We are looking to add an assistant to our current roster of three. The previous lead assistant moved on to become the golf course superintendent at another course. The Assistant Superintendent role at Maidstone will expose you to all aspects of turfgrass management on a variety of surfaces, and prepare you to move upward on your career track.

Responsibilities/job duties:

• Assisting the Director of Grounds and fellow Assistants with achieving Agronomic goals on a daily, weekly, and annual basis
• Will be involved frequently with course set up and water management
  • Will be involved with irrigation work from repairs to installation
• Will be involved with chemical/fertilizer applications and calibrations of equipment
  • Should be have the knowledge/ability to pass NYS Pesticide test
• Will be involved in project decisions and crew management
  • Encouraged to attend monthly Greens Committee Meetings
• Grow into a “self-starter” recognizing maintenance needs and coming up with solutions
