PROGRAM: As a selective Jewish Middle and High School following the Modern Orthodox tradition, the program at the Jewish Leadership Academy will be marked by rigorous college preparatory academics, progressive pedagogy, and a deeply embedded commitment to service learning.

OPPORTUNITY: The Associate Head of School position at the Jewish Leadership Academy is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic educator to join the leadership team of a well funded educational start-up on the ground level.With the doors scheduled to open for the 23-24 school year, the Associate Head of School will devote the 21-22 academic year exclusively to curricular, program, and policy planning together with the Head of School.Over the course of 21-22 academic year the Associate Head of School will assist the Head of School in hiring other key educational leadership positions.The 22-23 academic year will be spent in more detailed planning together with this expanded leadership team, along with hiring of faculty and recruitment of students for the Fall of 2023.
The Associate Head of School will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the school’s curricular and extra-curricular programing. He or she will directly supervise the school’s department chairs and faculty.Together with the Head of School, a Dean of Students and a CFO / COO, the Associate Head of School will serve as an integral part of the school’s core leadership team.
Graduate degree in education or a related field.
5+ years of Middle or High School teaching experience.
5+ years of school leadership experience.
Deep commitment to values, character, and integrity.
Strong understanding of college preparatory high school academics.
Strong understanding of and ability to relate to adolescents.
Outstanding work ethic, ready for the “all hands on deck” environment of a startup organization.

Comfort in a Modern Orthodox Jewish setting.
Knowledge of Hebrew and familiarity with Judaic Studies preferred but not required.
