We are currently seeking associate teachers for K-5th Grades for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year, with the possibility of continuing on for another school term. Candidates should have prior experience in working with children K-5th, understand early literacy and be curious about early learners. Opportunities for professional development in and out of school are plentiful and collaboration is essential.
Collaborate with Lead Teacher and share the task of maintaining and organizing materials in preparation for the week's lessons and activities.
Support students in both onsite and online learning via Zoom and utilizing technology resources.
Supervise and engage with students in classwork and projects, as well as facilitating social interactions between students and monitoring students during lunch time.
Teach small and large group lessons alone or with the assistance of the Lead Teacher, as agreed upon with the Lead Teacher.
Participate in curriculum planning for the week or the month.
Attend and participate in parent conferences, faculty meetings and school events. Contribute to the writing of student reports. Communicate with parents via email, telephone, or in-person in conjunction to Lead Teacher.
Attend and participate in reflective meetings, student support meetings, and professional development.
Engage and connect with Lead Teacher through individual or group meetings with other colleagues.
Participate in classroom decision making.
Adeptness and fluency with use of technology to deliver instruction and hold meetings with students, particularly in Zoom
An openness to continued learning about remote and onsite teaching during

Knowledge of independent school culture and functioning
A commitment to ongoing learning about diversity, equity and inclusion, and justice initiatives
Experience with Responsive Classroom techniques
