The Cambridge School of Weston seeks a Director of Athletics to oversee all aspects of the athletic programs and facilities. Reporting to the Dean of Student Life, the Director of Athletics is charged with ensuring that The Cambridge School of Weston’s athletic, recreational athletic, and wilderness programs  are meeting the mission of the department and of the school. In collaboration with the Dean of Student Life, the Athletic Director will provide strategic vision regarding programming, staffing, and scheduling to ensure alignment with school priorities. The Director is responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the athletic department and rentals of the athletic facilities and fields. For candidates who are interested in joining our residential community, we are able to offer campus housing for participating in our administrator-on-duty rotation.

 Specific Responsibilities for This Position Include:

• To lead, develop, organize, supervise and evaluate the entire program of interscholastic athletic, recreational athletic, and wilderness programs.
• To oversee the hiring, training and ongoing evaluation of all coaches and to ensure all hires understand and support the mission of the athletic program and the school. The Director will work with the administrative team with regard to faculty coaching assignments.   
• To ensure that all coaches are performing their duties at the very highest level of professionalism and that they are aligned with the school’s athletic philosophy and mission of the school. This includes seasonal evaluation.
• To work closely with the Dean of Student Life and Dean of Equity and Inclusion to ensure the needs of both boarding and day students are being met and their experience is in line with the school’s values around diversity, equity, and inclusion and the overall mission of the school.
• To ensure the proper maintenance and security of all athletic equipment and athletic facilities, fields, working in coordination with the Director of Facilities and Dean of Student Life.
• To prepare, submit, and administer a budget each year to fund the athletic programs of the school. 
• To collaborate with school leadership to maintain the calendar for athletic events and to coordinate athletic facility and field rentals.
• To schedule athletic contests, hire game officials, and coordinate transportation for all athletic related programs.
• To supervise and delegate specific responsibilities to the Assistant Director of Athletics/Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager
• To represent the school at various league, state, regional athletic meetings and associations. 
• To maintain and revise the coaches’ manual each year and set up appropriate meetings with coaches to review the information and standards in detail. 
• To oversee the distribution, collection, cleaning, repair, and storage of all athletic uniforms and equipment. 
• To ensure the health and safety of all students in the athletic program. 
• To ensure that The Cambridge School of Weston is in compliance with all relevant league and state regulations, for example, school-wide base-line concussion testing.  
• To track athletic requirements for all students.
• To attend, or enlist a school representative, to attend all home games.
