Job Qualifications: St. Andrew’s seeks a full-time English teacher, for grades 9-12, to join a department whose pedagogy is grounded in authentic demonstrations of student learning. We’re looking for people who love literature, ideas, discussion, and writing. Candidates should believe in students and their ability to grow and develop, demonstrating a deep dedication to meeting the needs of diverse student learners. Candidates should show a lively interest in pedagogy, collaboration, and professional development, and an ongoing commitment to cultural competence. Interested candidates should have a BA in English, Literature or a closely related field; a graduate degree and/or teaching experience are beneficial but not required. As a fully residential school community, we seek candidates who, in addition to the language and proficiencies described above, have a passion for teaching and a deep appreciation and respect for the privilege and honor of teaching and living with adolescents.
