Elementary Principal
The Paideia School
Paideia is a pre-K-12 college preparatory school of 1,000 students in the Emory University area of Atlanta; the elementary enrolls 330 students. Elementary classes range from kindergarten to 6th grade.
The elementary school has twelve self-contained, multi-age classrooms where children spend most of their academic time rather than moving about the school for different disciplines. This allows close contact and support from teachers who are able to observe and understand their students. Classroom teachers provide a firm foundation in basic skills like math and writing, and they also have the flexibility to create sustained projects or areas of study that encompass and enhance all academic areas. Each classroom is like a small community within the structure of the elementary school. This allows teachers and students to develop strong bonds which create a sense of belonging as well as an optimal learning environment. Additional information about the philosophy and structure of the program can be found in the elementary section of our school website at www.paidieaschool.org.
