The Child Development Center at Keene State College invites applications for an Associate Teacher to work in partnership with the center staff to achieve the highest standards of quality for children, families, and college students. This position requires the candidate to work in each of the centerâs classrooms depending on need (Infant-Preschool). This is an 86%-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, non-exempt, term position with an end date that is no later than 6/30/2021. The minimum starting salary for this position is $12.86 per hour, commensurate with education and experience, complemented by a generous benefits package. The Child Development Center (CDC), located on the Keene State College campus in Elliot Hall, is a demonstration early childhood education site for Keene State College students, practicing professionals, and young children and their families. The Center strives to model best practices by offering nurturing environments where young children are encouraged to explore, to be creative, to cultivate positive relationships, to experience the joy of learning, and to develop a sense of community. The CDC is a dynamic learning community dedicated to providing excellent practical experiences for students studying to be teachers or a related profession with young children. Undergraduate and graduate students are offered supervised experiences under the guidance of early childhood professionals, in the direct education and care of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. Through collaboration, the CDC staff contributes to an educational environment that encourages professionalism, growth and diversity. The ideal candidate will possess strong social and collaborative skills, and will create and participate in mutually supportive and respectful relationships between all members of our community.

Associates degree in Early Childhood, Family Studies, or closely related field; 1 year teaching experience with children ages birth to 5 years; demonstrated interpersonal communication and organizational skills; must meet NH Child Care Licensing associate teacher qualifications; and have sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this position, including lifting up to 50 lbs. |
