| We are currently looking for a motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our staff. This position along with two other assistants, superintendent, mechanic, and 18 seasonal staff work together to produce the best possible playing conditions for our membership. Liberty National will provide the right candidate the opportunity to advance their career at a state-of-the-art facility while working within a great network and knowledgeable staff. Liberty National is an 18-hole, private golf club located in Jersey City —adjacent to the Hudson River with views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. The club opened in 2006 and has since hosted several FedEx Cup playoff events and the 2017 Presidents Cup. Most recently Liberty National hosted the 2019 Northern Trust and will again host the first event of the FedEx Cup playoffs this August. The property features USGA A-4 creeping bentgrass putting greens, L-93 tees and fairways, Kentucky bluegrass rough, and a Tahoma 31 bermudagrass practice tee. Numerous renovations and course improvement projects are scheduled to be completed this spring in preparation for the 2021 Northern Trust. This position will work with the management team to maintain the club on a daily basis, sharpening the conditions of the 160-acre property to championship levels. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Chemical and fertilizer applications
- Irrigation repair/operation, including moisture management practices
- Course set-up and maintenance for daily play
- Supervising and assisting seasonal staff/interns in all cultural practices
We also provide opportunities to volunteer for various tournaments and to be placed in warm climates during the off-season. The candidate will gain experience in tournament preparation leading up to the 2021 Northern Trust. 2021 graduates are encouraged to apply as start date is flexible for the right applicant.
