St. Catherine’s School seeks a part-time Upper School Latin teacher for its coordinate Upper School Language program with St. Christopher’s School. The candidate will teach two sections of Latin beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.

Applicants should demonstrate a passion for Latin and a desire to participate in the life of the Upper School. A master’s degree in Latin is preferred, but not required.  As a member of the Department of World Languages, this teacher will help Latin students and teachers in other disciplines understand how the skills students develop in their language classes--including pattern recognition, analysis, logic, rhetoric, and a host of communication skills--support their progress across the curriculum. In addition, St. Catherine's has historically participated in the National Latin Exam, the Classical Association of Virginia Tournament Exam, and the Virginia Junior Classical League as well as various other Latin-oriented organizations and competitions. Applicants should be willing to continue this tradition and foster student engagement with the Latin community outside of St. Catherine's.
