The Masters School
Start Date: August 23, 2021 The Masters School (mastersny.org) is a premier coeducational day and boarding school that engages students in grades 5 through 12 with a challenging academic program in a welcoming learning environment. Located on 96 picturesque acres overlooking the Hudson River, The Masters School community takes advantage of both its access to the tristate area and its proximity to the rich cultural and educational magnet that is New York City. Our vibrant Upper School boarding program includes both five- and seven-day options, and draws students from across the county, across the country, and across the globe. Students benefit from our holistic implementation of the Harkness method, as well as the resources, diversity and activities of Masters seven-day campus and accessible, talented faculty and staff. From our exceptional academics and outstanding visual and performing arts program to our championship athletic teams, the Masters learning experience prepares students for success in college, career and life, and always with our mission — to be a power for good in the world — at the center of our teaching and learning. Our Upper School has just over 500 students and 75 faculty and staff. Our Upper School is well-known for its use of a student-centered, Harkness approach to teaching and learning. In addition to a core liberal arts curriculum, students can participate in signature programs such as Ethical Leadership; Engineering, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and Global and Civic Exchange. Our seven-day boarding program gives students and faculty the opportunity to be part of a dynamic community of individuals from across the country and globe, as well as offering students full-time access to faculty and school resources. This uniquely enriching educational experience will now be complemented by our five-day boarding program, which launched in the fall of 2019.
