Job Summary Branson’s Science program is designed to build a deep understanding of scientific concepts and skills through guided inquiry, collaborative investigation, and meaningful activities and assessments. Applicants should be capable of teaching high school Chemistry and Physics -- regular or honors -- and ideally be able to offer an upper-level elective in a subject of their own choosing and expertise. Applicants should be excited to work together closely, collaborating to plan each unit of study, individual lessons and assessments with other teachers or be capable of generally working on their own, and therefore need to be able to handle independently delivering that curriculum. All science teachers report to the Chair of the Science Department and are expected to collaborate and form a strong team with all members of the department. All teachers at Branson also serve as an advisor to a group of students in a particular grade, as well as perform some other duty at the school. There is flexibility in that choice of duty, and options include committee work, coaching and running a student club or organization.
