Lower School General Music Teacher
William Penn Charter School
William Penn Charter School, a co-ed, PreK-12 independent Quaker day school, seeks a full-time General Music teacher for the 2021-22 school year. Applicants must possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in Music Education and three to five years of experience teaching lower school general music classes. The Music Education teacher will teach general music to lower school students including vocal music, movement, and various musical instruments. Prior experience with Orff is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will embrace student-centered pedagogy, model curiosity and a desire for professional growth, and exhibit a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues. Additionally, they will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in their teaching practice and in building relationships with all members of our community. Familiarity with the principles and practices of Quakerism and Quaker education as well as Responsive Classroom is highly desirable. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
