We are seeking a full-time Upper School Engineering and Computer Science Teacher (long term sub) from April through early June. Our PreK-12 Computer Science Department and DREAM Lab® program combines hands-on design and making with traditional computer science. Our program is a hands-on, project-based program, and the successful candidate will be experienced in developing and implementing a project-based curriculum. The Upper School Computer Science and Engineering teacher will teach four or more courses in the Upper School (grades 9-12), including Computer Science 2, Engineering 2, and Advanced Design. He/she will have primary responsibility for designing and implementing the curriculum and creating enthusiasm for Computer Science and Engineering as a field of study, and will have the support of the Computer Science Chair and department colleagues. The successful candidate will be an experienced secondary-level teacher and will have a Computer Science or related STEM degree. In addition, he/she will support the school’s mission, and contribute to the life of the school by fulfilling duties typical of independent day school life.
B.A. in Computer Science, or related field, or commensurate experience 1-3 years teaching experience, 3-5 preferred
Commitment to an all-girls environment and to encouraging girls to pursue STEM
Proficient in CAD software (Autodesk or other) -Strong communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with others
