The Ramaz School has an immediate opening for a full-time History teacher for this 2020-21 school year. Full or part-time is available.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Teaching American History in Grades 6 and 7
Amending and developing the curriculum on an ongoing basis;
Providing individualized support to students as necessary;
Helping students grow as critical thinkers;
Partnering with other teacher on thematic, interdisciplinary units
Maintaining accurate records of student performance and writing report cards, including detailed narrative reports;
Attending weekly department and division meetings, as well as school-related activities, including occasional evening and weekend programs; and
Demonstrating a commitment to professional growth through collaboration with colleagues and attending workshops.

Undergraduate degree (required) and master’s degree (preferred) in History or education;
At least three years of experience teaching History, preferably at the middle school level;
Familiarity with technology in Middle School instruction;
A genuine enthusiasm for teaching middle school students; and
The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues about student learning and growth.
