The Middle School Spanish Instructor will demonstrate experience and skill in Spanish, as well as an enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring young people and is committed to teaching within a student-centered learning environment. This educator is experienced in designing and implementing 21st-century curriculum and instruction and teaches with a communicative approach based on the theory of Comprehensible input.
Qualifications and Skills:
3+ years experience as a Spanish instructor preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Experience teaching with a communicative approach based on the tenets of the Natural Approach and the theory of Comprehensible input (such as TPRS) preferred.
Experience with Free Voluntary Reading programs preferred.
Ability and experience teaching multiple levels, preferred
Proficiency in educational technology and twenty-first-century pedagogy
Commitment to participate broadly and cheerfully in the life of the school
Possess a growth mindset
Collaborate effectively with teachers.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
