The Morris Central School District is a rural Pre K-12 district located between Norwich and Oneonta in the beautiful Catskills region of upstate New York. Approximately 315 students learn at Morris CSD each day - supported by a wonderful and caring faculty, staff, and administrative team. Cooperstown, SUNY Oneonta, and Hartwick College are all located within an easy drive from Morris.

The Board of Education is prepared to offer the new Superintendent a three-year contract with an initial salary of $125-135,000. A competitive benefit package is available. Residency within the district is expected within one year of employment.  The candidate must possess or be eligible for a New York State School District Administrator Certification.

The new Superintendent of Morris Central School should be an educator who has:

• successful classroom and administrative experience, including experience in school finance, budget development/management, and school business operations
• the ability to work collaboratively and communicate with the community, Board of Education, and staff
• leadership ability to create the conditions for faculty and staff to engage collaboratively around student well-being and achievement
• demonstrated experience with team building and the ability to develop, lead, and inspire the District’s students, teachers, and parents to strive for excellence
• knowledge of the NYS learning standards and the ability to motivate staff to implement those standards
