The successful candidate:

Will contribute to our mission through the following activities and responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with family members, homeroom teachers, the World Language department, and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for all students.
• Ensure classroom arrangement, materials, and displays are organized, culturally responsive, and conducive to children’s learning.
• Provide in-person and/or virtual classroom experiences that are developmentally, linguistically, and culturally age-appropriate for the children served.
• Designing and facilitating rigorous, empowering lesson plans that are student-centered and thought-provoking.
• Being intellectually curious and having the desire to spark a love of learning in students.
• Have a genuine appreciation of elementary-aged students, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well within a fast-paced environment.
• Document student’s progress through ongoing observation and direct assessment activities, using data to plan and individualize curriculum.
• Have the ability to teach language through communication, culture, connections, comparisons, and communities.
• Present engaging assemblies to an audience of Pre-K through grade 4 students on IB Learner Profile traits.

Will possess:

• Near-native proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish and English
• A warm and friendly personality
• Dedication to meeting the needs of diverse student learners
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Qualifications:

• 2 to 3 years of teaching experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Excellent listening skills;
• Comfortable differentiating instruction;
• Classroom management skills;
