Lower School Lead Teacher
ST. ANNE'S SCHOOL OF ANNAPOLIS
St. Anne’s School of Annapolis invests in the intellectual and spiritual promise of each student in a community that celebrates diversity and upholds the dignity of every human being. We challenge students to think critically and creatively, to know themselves as learners, and to govern their lives with confidence, compassion, and integrity. St. Anne's School draws from its Episcopal tradition as an independent, co-educational school, serving students in Twos through 8th Grade. St. Anne’s School is committed to equity and justice and aspires to be a community in which every member feels engaged, heard, and valued. We embrace the contributions of all members of our community as we foster a culture of respect. Sharing perspectives and experiences beyond our own boundaries through exploration, introspection, and civil discourse is integral to our mission of creating an inclusive learning environment. St. Anne’s School of Annapolis is accepting applications for a full-time Lower School Lead Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about teaching and learning in a progressive, constructivist setting, surrounded by collaborative colleagues. St. Anne’s School is a premier 2s-8th independent Episcopal school, recognized for its leading-edge, inquiry-based academic program rooted in an intentional social-emotional curriculum. At the heart of our work is our emphasis on the holistic development of each individual, the value of diversity, equity, and engagement and service to others. We have used the Responsive Classroom approach school-wide for nearly two decades.

Candidates for consideration will be familiar with data-informed balanced literacy instruction. Training and experience in guided reading and readers’ and writers’ workshops (Fountas & Pinnell; Calkins) are preferred. Candidates further should be committed to manipulative and concept-based mathematics instruction, social-emotional learning, and an integrated, project approach to social studies (Katz, Chard). St. Anne’s School seeks life-long learners who possess the positive professionalism, community-mindedness, openness, engagement, and warmth that characterizes our entire staff. |
