Middle School English Teacher
Shore Country Day School
Shore Country Day School seeks a full-time lead teacher for multi-grade assignment in English. Candidates should be flexible, creative, and innovative in their approach, with a demonstrable commitment to educational principles and practices of anti-racism and anti-bias. Shore seeks to inspire a life-long love of learning in children, and an ideal candidate will locate joy in working with students at the middle school level and be equally as comfortable and motivated to work with sixth-grade students as they are with ninth-grade students. Classes emphasize writing skills and literary analysis in a student-centered, discussion-based environment. Beginner or experienced teachers may apply. Ability, experience, and interest in coaching athletics considered a bonus. Competitive salary and benefits package including graduate degree programs and professional development. Shore seeks and supports diversity in its professional faculty and staff. Teacher certification is not required for consideration. Candidates are encouraged to apply directly, rather than through placement services. Interested candidates for all positions at Shore should send a letter of interest, résumé, statement of educational philosophy, and three references with contact information to Louis Frank, English Department Chair: lfrank@shoreschool.org.
