THE MISSION

St. Paul’s Catholic School educates children in the truest and fullest sense by giving them the necessary tools of learning and by fostering curiosity and wonder. We emphasize classical learning and draw from the wisdom of two thousand years of Catholic thought, history, culture, and arts. We teach our students to live the virtues in the service of God and others. By fostering a love for truth, beauty, and goodness, we seek to form disciples of Jesus Christ, set free to realize their full potential by living joyfully in accordance with the truth revealed by God through nature and the Catholic Church.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

• Hold a valid Idaho Administrator certificate, or be eligible for licensure as an administrator in Idaho
• Demonstrate successful experience as a classroom teacher or school counselor/building administrator.
• Have previous school administration experience.

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Catholic school philosophy
• Knowledge of budgetary practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of long range planning techniques.
• Knowledge of curriculum issues.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Demonstrated exemplary skills written and oral communication in both private and public settings.
• Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with faculty, staff and students.
• Ability to relate to, and work with, diverse groups with varying interests.
• Ability to work in a collaborative management model.
• Ability to be a faith leader in the community.

A completed application packet for principal should include:

1. A cover letter explaining your interest in a principal position at St. Paul’s Catholic School
2. Current resume
3. Copy of Idaho or out-of-state administrator license(s)
4. Diocesan Application
5. A short essay on each of the following:
   1. If a prospective new parent to the school asked you to briefly explain what a Catholic Classical education is, what would you say?
   2. A principal in a Catholic school has many responsibilities that are often given to a superintendent in a public school. Describe how a school budget is both created and followed.
   3. What would you list as the most important things that a principal does? Please list them in order of importance. 
6. Three letters of recommendation from:
   1. Pastor or religious superior
   2. Immediate past employer
   3. One other professional reference
