Charlotte Latin is seeking a Chief Technology Officer, effective July 1, 2021, who will employ his or her expertise to help lead the School’s overall efforts in teaching and learning with digital tools. By supporting both the educational and operational components of technology, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will help the school realize the transformative potential of technology. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in Charlotte Latin’s future success, preparing students to function effectively and independently now and throughout their lives.

Bridging many aspects of intellectual life on campus, the Chief Technology Officer will lead a team that manages both the internal technological infrastructure of the School as well as the school’s technology initiatives involving leading-edge pedagogy and curriculum. The CTO will bring an information fluency to all members of the School community as the curriculum continues to successfully integrate technology with academic disciplines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, vision and day-to-day management of the IT and Educational Technology Departments
• Serve on the administrative team and work with key personnel to drive innovation at CLS forward with regards to internal IT infrastructure, pedagogy and curriculum
• Report to CFO and work closely with school leadership to ensure ongoing information technology goals are aligned with Latin’s priorities and operating requirements
• Manages Latin’s IT budget, monitoring performance against budget over time, and ensuring budget compliance
• Identify, evaluate and recommend new and emerging technologies for classroom and administrative uses
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with CLS faculty to understand and support the TK-12 curriculum; Spearhead technology initiatives that support teaching and learning
• Manage IT inventory of all school-owned or leased equipment; support over 2,700 devices including a large scale 1:1 program spanning all grades
• Oversee a high volume of help desk requests with creative technological solutions; Engage students in supporting the 1:1 program
• Lead IT and Educational Technology teams in providing excellent support and communication for all initiatives, projects and platforms
• Ensure the coordination, security and efficiency of network infrastructure
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, security and privacy of all campus information and data systems
• Remain current on new developments in software, hardware, networks, telecommunications, training and maintenance
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
