We currently have a job opening for an Admissions and Outreach Director

East Bay School for Boys—an independent middle school for boys in Berkeley, CA—is looking for a full-time Admissions and Outreach Director for the 2021-2022 school year. This position will report to the Head of School. 

Duties specific to this position include:

• Designing and executing the school’s admissions program, including the design and implementation of the inquiry and visit experiences and the application process and documents.
• Leading the Admissions Committee and collaborating with other key staff to craft diverse, values-aligned classes from our applicant pool.
• Supporting the Tuition Assistance Committee with the tuition assistance allocation process.
• Creating and coordinating new family communications and orientation, including assisting other members of the administrative team with the onboarding and enrollment processes.
• Coordinating the re-enrollment process for current families.
• Designing and overseeing regular enrollment management assessment processes for enrollment program improvement.
• Supervising and executing the school’s community outreach.
• Collaboratively designing and implementing the school’s strategic marketing program and storytelling as a key member of the Advancement Team.
• Assisting the School Coordinator with proper record keeping on incoming and current students.
• Collaborating with the School Coordinator, Facilities Manager, and other staff to ensure that the school’s physical campus is clean and reflective of our school’s values and story.
• Collaborating with the Work teacher to foster stewardship program opportunities to bring EBSB into local elementary school classrooms.
• Coordinating visits from other organizations and schools to witness our innovative educational and design thinking programs and our one-of-a-kind all-boys social-emotional curriculum.
• Preparing and delivering periodic admissions reports to the Board of Directors.

In addition, we ask all EBSB staff to do the following:

• Effectively communicate with a diverse parent body.
• Participate in team and staff meetings, attend school functions, supervise student breaks, etc.
• Participate on the Admissions Committee and other committees, as needed and appropriate.

Required qualifications specific to this position include:

• A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree and/or professional coursework or certification indicating training applicable to the responsibilities of the position.
• Experience in admissions and/or outreach work, preferably in an independent school setting.
• Magnetism, sense of humor, and the ability to apply these to translate the mission of our school into experiences that will attract prospective families.
• Ability to tell an authentic story that resonates with the lived experiences of current and prospective families and students.

In addition to the above, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Experience working in school leadership.
