San Joaquin Memorial High School is located in Fresno, California, in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley seeks candidates for the position of Principal, with a start date of July 1, 2021. Founded in 1945, Memorial is the only Catholic high school in the greater Fresno area and is part of the diocese of Fresno. With a current enrollment of 503 students, SJM is proud to offer both a diverse and challenging curriculum. Memorial is moving to the President/Principal administrative model beginning in the 2021/22 academic year. Current Head of School, Michael Burke, will assume the President’s position as the school conducts a national search for it Principal.
The ideal candidate should have experience in academic leadership and classroom teaching, preferably in Catholic schools. The Principal must have excellent communication skills and a leadership style that is personable and relatable to all in the school community. The Principal is expected to build community among faculty, staff, students and families to ensure that the mission and values of San Joaquin Memorial are infused throughout all aspects of the student experience, including arts, athletics, campus ministry and service programs.
