Oakcrest School, an independent liberal arts school guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, for girls grades 6-12 in Vienna, VA seeks a full time experienced teacher of middle and upper school Studio Art beginning in August 2021. Oakcrest Art Teachers provide a course of study focused on the hands on experience of creating works of art and developing skills over time, as well as fostering in students a broad understanding of art as a means of human expression and communication and its impact on culture.
pplicants should possess: - a strong educational background in the liberal arts; - Bachelor's degree in Art; degree or experience in art methods and education - a minimum of three to five years teaching experience in a rigorous program; - excellent communication skills and an understanding of the developmental needs of adolescent girls; - experience with and desire to collaboratively work as part of a team; commitment to excellent teaching and to continued professional development; and - desire to involve oneself with the school and communicate effectively beyond the classroom.
