Position Summary: This position is responsible for the direction, development, administration, supervision and implementation of an internal and external long-term fund development program designed to increase financial support for Kimberly’s Center. This position is also responsible for managing, directing, and providing support for the activities of the development program and all development committees and its volunteers. This position provides creative development of support materials and promotions that support the fundraising office.
BS or BA, preferably with coursework in business, journalism, communications, marketing/public relations. A minimum of one to three years of related work experience is required. Individual must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Individual must be a self-starter with the ability to work with, support and motivate development program members in a positive manner. Preferred: Certified Fundraising Executive, advanced degree and/or certification with experience in a nonprofit/education environment.
Ability to prioritize duties and to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills and independent judgment required. Must be detail-oriented.
Prefer individual with knowledge of the local community. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred and knowledge of donor software helpful.
Ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed to coordinate fund development events
Ability to handle wide variety of written projects (letters, promotional materials, proposals, memos, etc.) independently.
Creative ability to design and produce promotional materials, develop themes for events, plan program agendas, etc.
Exceptional computer aptitude with experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
High energy level and a pleasant and self-assured personality. A positive attitude and ability to build positive relationships with volunteers is essential.
