Second Grade Teacher We are seeking a resourceful, innovative, and nurturing second grade teacher to teach a cohort of 13 students as part of a vibrant second grade team. This is a full-time, exempt, and benefit eligible position. It is a ten-month position and reports to the Lower School Head. Responsibilities - Possess and utilize knowledge of best practices in elementary education, childhood development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion pedagogy to provide appropriate instruction
- Develop and document curriculum to support foundational skill development, reflect student needs and interests, and continue school-wide initiatives, programs, and content scope and sequences
- Foster a mission-aligned, inclusive classroom culture that honors differences and promotes parent engagement
- Utilize anecdotal, informal and formal benchmark assessments to assess and monitor growth in all curriculum areas, particularly literacy skill development and math
- Implement systems to document and identify student’s growth and development in order to differentiate instruction and set individual goals
- Incorporate technology in the classroom in innovative and creative ways to enhance student learning
- Communicate verbally and in writing sensitively, regularly, clearly, and honestly with parents, informally and through conferences and semester reports
- Contribute to and benefit from working with colleagues
- Participate enthusiastically in all aspects of an excellent school

- Proactively prepare and pivot to online instruction when needed
