Earth Systems Science teacher
Edmund Burke School
Edmund Burke School seeks a permanent, full-time high school science teacher for the fall of 2021 whose primary responsibility will be to teach four sections of 9th and 10th grade Earth Systems Science (ESS), as well as advise in the high school. The ideal candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree in earth science, physical geography, geology, or a related discipline, as well as a minimum of three years experience teaching at the secondary level, including remote teaching experience. This position requires extensive use of technology (iPads, Vernier data collection and analysis equipment, etc.) as part of a rich and innovative experiential learning program involving laboratory and field studies in nearby Rock Creek Park. The ESS teacher is also expected to contribute actively to the ongoing development of this curriculum, and to work collaboratively with the Science Department.
