The mission of the Baldwin School Libraries is to serve all community members by creating inclusive spaces that foster cultural and global curiosity, dynamic research skills, and a lifelong love of reading. The Early Childhood, Lower School, and Anne Frank Libraries are each a hub for the School’s academic life and aim to inspire and support the learning of students and adults in an environment that is equitable, and culturally rich. The Library curriculum is designed to both enrich content across curricular areas and to deliver core learning in information literacy, through an inquiry-based, student-centered approach. The Upper School Teacher Librarian, as part of the Library Department team, will support the mission and core values of the School. The Teacher Librarian will collaborate with faculty to advance curricular learning in their content areas, while also embedding key Library learning skills. In addition to teaching, the Librarian will contribute to the management and oversight of the Anne Frank Library, with responsibilities in areas including programming, collection development, circulation, marketing, and cataloging. Main responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with faculty to advance core learning in their content areas and looking for opportunities to create cross-curricular learning experiences
• Co-planning and delivering upper school classroom learning experiences that include skills in the areas of literacy, research, technology, and ethical use of information
• Serving as a resource and support for the School in the area of innovative and emerging technologies for learning
• Serving as an expert in the area of copyright and fair use in education, helping to provide proactive and responsive information for all constituents
• Contributing to the planning and execution of innovative library programming, PreK-12
• Contributing to the planning and delivery of Library helpdesk services for faculty and students, including reference support, readers advisory, research support, and academic tech support
• Contributing to the development of print and digital collections, to support curriculum and independent reading
• Updating and maintaining the Anne Frank Library digital resources page
• Elevating the visibility of the Library and the School through active participation in local, state, and national level library and education opportunities (i.e., conferences, grants, publications, etc.)
• Actively supporting the Admission team in its work with prospective families
