Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering curricula that are responsive to the needs of all of our students and the requirements of the mathematics programs of their home schools.  In addition to two sections of Calculus (AP-aligned AB and BC sections), this includes a general precalculus class.  Though most students will be studying some form of precalculus, the class must be aligned with the curricula of several home schools, and students will likely be studying a range of material, from intermediate algebra to introductory calculus.  
• Twelve to fifteen hours per week of classroom teaching and/or co-teaching 
• Administrative preparation involving grading and other student feedback, and professional development 
• Working with the Residential Team on student life programming 
• Living in an on-campus apartment 

Additional Responsibilities

• 2-3 student advisees each semester 
• Regular evening and weekend dormitory supervision 
• Additional administrative/residential responsibilities as determined during the hiring process
• Each faculty member at SEGL also takes on important administrative responsibilities to support the school. These may include assistance with the food program, assisting the Head of School, and/or managing our operations efforts 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent writing skills; writing sample required.
• Fully dedicated to accomplishing SEGL’s mission.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, start up environment.
• An independent, outside-the-box thinker.
• Flexible and collaborative in a variety of circumstances.
• Willing to accomplish both advanced and menial tasks with a positive attitude.
