About The Croft School The Croft School is a newly-opened, high-quality independent school in Jamaica Plain. In September 2020, our school opened with students in Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. We are in the midst of an awesome founding year! Over time, the school will grow into a Preschool through Grade 6 school serving approximately 270 students. The Croft School provides an engaging, innovative, child-centered program to its students and a unique parent-oriented experience to its families, all within a tight-knit, friendly, and joyous environment. We aim to enroll a diverse student population supported by our Customized Tuition Solutions approach and model. Our school facility, located near Forest Hills station, was built and renovated in early 2020. The Croft School in Boston is building upon the foundation and acclaimed success of its sister school, also called The Croft School, in Providence, Rhode Island. About The Role The Croft School is seeking two exceptional Grade 1 Teachers to teach the school’s inaugural two First Grade classes. All Croft teachers are empowered to design and deliver an outstanding student program in alignment with the school’s thoughtful approaches to classroom climate, pedagogy, personalization, and assessment. All Croft teachers dedicate ample time and thoughtfulness to close communication and partnership with their students’ families. The ideal candidate will be committed to building deep relationships with her/his students and use that knowledge to establish and lead a classroom that balances high-quality math, reading, and writing instruction with innovative project-based learning, weekly community trips, social-emotional lessons and discussion, and purposeful play.
