Fall 2021 Preschool Assistant Teacher
12 month part-time position, M-F 7:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Primary responsibilities:
Model and instill a love of learning
Support a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth
Support student performance in all areas of development: Social Emotional, Language and Literacy, Logical Mathematical, and Physical
Support appropriate instruction in line with the school standards, curriculum, and student needs
Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect
Manage student behavior in the classroom by utilizing effective classroom management strategies
Qualifications :
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree; require early childhood credentials
at least two years of teaching in an early childhood environment
excellent understanding of the social, emotional, and academic needs of preschool age children and how to provide for them
a commitment to work collaboratively and innovatively with colleagues
ability to communicate respectfully, proactively, and honestly both verbally and in writing
