St. Mark’s Episcopal School in Houston, Texas is seeking creative, organized, team players to serve as Early Childhood Teachers in our Primary School division.
The primary job of an early childhood teacher at St. Mark’s is to serve as the Pre School 3s Lead Teacher in an exemplary program for children in the Primary School division. We are looking for dynamic, early childhood professionals, who are motivated to provide a stimulating, safe and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, emotional, and physical skills. We welcome educators who understand the role that technology plays in supporting the educational experience of 21st century learners. As a member of the Primary School faculty, early childhood teachers are expected to support the mission and philosophy of St. Mark’s Episcopal School. The position hours are from 7:30 AM - 3:45 PM.
Plan, deliver, and evaluate lessons and curriculum
Create a learning environment that supports developmentally appropriate practices and utilizes the learning environment as the third teacher
Collect observations and documentation of student learning and reporting of student progress p
Develop a nurturing relationship with students, a respectful partnership with parents and collegial relationships with co-workers
An understanding of and a passion for teaching young children
Effective organizational, written and oral communication skills
Patience, energy, and physical stamina
A collaborative, creative and joyful spirit
A working knowledge of technology resources in education
Mastery of personal care duties of young children (diapering, feeding, good hygiene practices)
Interpersonal skills necessary for effective team success
A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
Three years of teaching experience in planning a centers-based program for bright, articulate children
