| Grade 3 Primary School Teacher Since 1800, when St. Madeleine Sophie Barat founded the Society of the Sacred Heart in France, Religious of the Society of the Sacred Heart and lay Sacred Heart educators have carried out her imperative of educational excellence. Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart School is seeking a Grade 3 teacher that demonstrates expertise in the field of teaching elementary school and commitment to ongoing professional growth. Under the direct leadership of the Montessori and Primary School Head, and guided by the Goals & Criteria, he/she will work independently and collaboratively to provide a stimulating and developmentally appropriate educational environment for all learners. Essential duties and responsibilities - A commitment to the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart network schools as articulated in the school mission
- Teach 3rd grade Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, History and Religion.
- Organize and manage a classroom environment to safely and effectively accomplish program goals.
- Support students as they develop skills and attitudes essential to realize their full potential
- Model certain attributes of intelligence - academic, spiritual and emotional while demonstrating our belief in the dignity of all the students we serve
- Create and define goals and objectives for unit and daily lessons plans, prepare classroom activities, organize teaching materials, evaluate student performance, maintain classroom records, and manage time effectively
- Submit grade reports and student comments at specified intervals
- Hold conferences with students, parents, administrators, and other professionals
- Participate in faculty meetings, liturgies, chapels, retreats, school assemblies, and special events such as, but not limited to, back to school night and admissions showcases.
- Additional duties may be required, such as participating in curriculum reviews, etc
- Utilize cognitive science and educational research to inform teaching practices
- Participates in reflective, self-directed, on-going professional development
- Performs other related duties as assigned
