Job Overview: Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley, located in Berkeley, California, is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated English Preschool Teacher to join its academic team for the 2021-22 school year and beyond. The position is available late August 2021. The English Preschool Teacher (English language) is a professional educator who is responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, rigorous instruction in their content areas that produces unmatched results and student understanding. Preschool teachers, as key members of the EB academic team, will perform additional duties if needed and must strictly follow the school curriculum and adhering to all school policies and procedures. Job duties include (but are not limited to): Plans, organizes, and provides instruction in English. Instruction must be consistent and coordinated with the instructional program so that students meet and exceed learning targets and the requirements outlined in the curriculum. Develops and delivers lesson plans utilizing a broad range of appropriate differentiated techniques and strategies addressing all aspects of communication that develop each student’s ability to read, write, speak, and listen in content areas at levels that ensure learners meet or exceed learning targets. Administers academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student’s progress in meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition. Maintains complete and accurate records of student’s progress and evidence of growth and progress. Provides a nurturing, supportive, and positive learning environment with high expectations that encourage student responsibility, enhance motivation, clearly communicate classroom routines, and incorporate challenging instructional strategies. Facilitates frequent and effective home?school communication by coordinating: conferences; written communication; parent training and other meetings/events, etc. Attends professional meetings as well as serves on specific committees, and attends staff meetings as may be requested or as established by school policy. Demonstrate cooperation and flexibility in performing other related duties as assigned by school administration.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor degree with ECE units. - 3-5 years’ teaching experience.. - Intermediate computer skills are required including word processing, excel/data-entry, e-mail and Internet usage. Must be able to use smart boards and other technology in the classroom. - Demonstrated interpersonal skills with children and adults. - Work experience and exposure to diverse languages and cultures strongly preferred. - Bilingual in French/English a plus.
