Under the supervision of the Director, the teacher will instruct students according to the prescribed LHPS curriculum. The teacher will perform related teaching tasks and functions such as planning, research, curriculum alignment, assessment and record-keeping in an efficient and effective manner. As needed, the teacher will also willingly participate in the school community and student co-curricular activities. This is a full-time position teaching high school Spanish.

Instructs students using various teaching methods, such as direct instruction, demonstrations, group work, hands-on activities and uses audiovisual aids, technology and other resources to supplement instruction.
Prepares a yearly plan, course objectives and unit outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines and/or requirements of the State of Florida, LHPS, and accrediting agencies.
Administers both formative and summative tests and assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching plan.
Keeps accurate and up-to-date student records.
Issues reports to parents to inform about progress and assessment results.
Keeps attendance and grade records.
Maintains discipline and safety in classroom.
Meets and/or communicates with parents to discuss individual student progress and problems.
Participates in faculty and professional meetings, curriculum projects as needed, educational conferences and teacher training workshops.
Keeps teacher certification current; provides Human Resources a copy of Certificate or Statement of Eligibility and with proof of courses taken towards certification or re-certification.
Should be willing to do whatever necessary to assure comfort, safety and health of students entrusted to him / her.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Teachers must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and have fluency in Spanish. Ideal candidates will possess certification through the Florida Department of Education in Spanish. Candidates should have a minimum of two years teaching experience. Fluency with, or strong interest in, using MacBooks for instruction is required.
