Follow the Child Montessori School Assistant Teacher Job Description: Children’s House We are seeking a nurturing, joyful, and curious assistant teacher to partner in the care and education of children ages three, four, and five. If you enjoy creating learning environments where children can develop independence, confidence, and experience joy, this may be the job for you. Responsibilities: > Partners with the classroom lead teacher and other members of the preschool-level faculty to create a nurturing, vibrant, and safe environment for children. > Ensures that the classroom is always well-prepared and organized. Helps to create new materials and ensure that existing materials and shelves are routinely cleaned and organized. > Assumes a leading role in the supervision of both classroom and playground to ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times. > Assists in redirecting and supervising children throughout the day. Serves as a social-emotional role model in the classroom. Montessori educational philosophy will be provided. > Committed to the Equity Mission at FCM to work towards “dismantling biases and creating equitable experiences for every member of our community.” Qualifications > Keen observational skills > Punctuality is essential > Organized and attentive to detail > Ability to move with ease from floor and desk work. > Associates or Bachelors Degree > Excellent communicator and collaborator > Warm, professional, and calm demeanor > Reliable and consistent attendance > Great sense of humor > Interest in/knowledge of Montessori principles; Montessori training is not required. Excellent salary and benefits. In addition, teachers who demonstrate high potential and passion for teaching are eligible to qualify to be fully sponsored for AMI Primary (3 to 6 years) Diploma training.
